Reincarnation by Aman Pathak

Today I will be writing about what I have learnt in the e-Yogi

Gurukul 201 course. I have enjoyed my time in the courses

and learned so many things about Hinduism.

Hinduism is more than 5000 years old. It is one of the few

ancient religions to survive into modern times. There is no

founder, nor single prophet or initial teacher.

Hinduism has many sacred texts and do not have a single

holy book. Among these books are the Vedas. There are four

Vedas, Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur veda and the Atharva

Veda. The Vedas were passed down orally before being

written down thousands of years later. The hindu philosophy

was further developed and eventually became the

Upanishads. This philosophy was restated in the Puranas,

Ramayana, the Mahabaharta, as well as the Bahgavad Gita.

Hindus believe that the soul is eternal and is reborn in

different forms. This continuous cycle of life, death and

rebirth is known as Reincarnation. What a person

experiences in their future life depends on their actions in

their past life.

Hinduism respects other religions and acknowledges them

for potential for truth in them. Hindus see the varieties of

religions as a way to relate to god.
